On Monday, November 15 2021, the symbolic handover of 20 oxygen concentrators destined for the Ministry of Health took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Business, and International Cooperation (BIBIS). On behalf of this department, BIBIS Minister Albert Ramdin received the donation. The devices are from the DeVilbiss Healthcare brand.

COVID care demands a great deal of our attention, which is why we are pleased with the contribution from a private enterprise,” stated Minister Ramdin. K&K Heritage Group and Innodata Suriname are supporting healthcare efforts with 10 oxygen concentrators each. “We work with and for people,” said Chivaro Gajadien, director of K&K Heritage Group, referring to his support for COVID care. The DeVilbiss Healthcare oxygen machine is portable and can be easily used elsewhere. It is electronically operated and delivers 5 liters of oxygen per minute.

According to Minister Ramdin, the Ministry of Health will determine the distribution. “These are machines that have previously been used in Suriname and have proven useful. For individual care at various alternative locations, but also in the interior and districts, the DeVilbiss Healthcare oxygen machines will be very useful,” said Minister Ramdin.
